In Windows 10, if your WiFi adapter isn't working, it can disrupt your network connection and affect your work or entertainment. This article provides effective methods to fix common WiFi adapter issues and restore a stable connection.

Method 1: Update Network Adapter Driver

An outdated, corrupted, or incompatible wireless network card driver may cause your WiFi adapter to malfunction. It is recommended to use Driver Sentry to automatically detect and update drivers, saving time and avoiding risks of downloading or installing incorrect drivers.

Download

  • Click the download button to get the latest version of Driver Sentry, install the software, and open it. Click "Scan".

  • After scanning, it will show which drivers are missing or need updating. Find the network card driver in the list and click the "Download" button.

  • After updating, restart your computer to ensure the new driver takes effect.

Method 2: Check WiFi Switch

1). Some laptops have a physical WiFi switch, usually located on the side or front of the laptop. Ensure this switch is turned on.

2). Some laptops use keyboard shortcuts (such as Fn+F2 or other function keys) to enable or disable WiFi. Try pressing these key combinations to toggle the WiFi switch.

Method 3: Restart Network Adapter

Right-click the network icon in the bottom right corner of your desktop and select "Open Network & Internet settings".
