Solutions for Rockstar Games Launcher Not Working
Many PC gamers face issues with the Rockstar Games Launcher. This article offers solutions to help you fix the problem and resume gaming.
1. Check for Driver Updates
Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause the Rockstar Games Launcher to malfunction. Updating your graphics drivers promptly can effectively resolve this issue. We recommend using Driver Sentry to automatically detect and update drivers, saving time and avoiding the risk of downloading or installing incorrect drivers.
Click the download button to get the latest version of Driver Sentry, install it, and open the software. Click "Scan".
After scanning, it will display any missing or outdated drivers. Locate the graphics driver in the list and click the "Upgrade" button.
After the update is complete, restart your computer to ensure the new drivers are applied correctly.
2. Flush DNS Cache
Press Win + S, search for "Command Prompt", and run it as Administrator.
In the Command Prompt, type the following command and press Enter: ipconfig /flushdns
Once the process is complete, you will see a message stating "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache".
Close the Command Prompt, restart the Rockstar Games Launcher, and check if the issue is resolved.
3. Run as Administrator
Find the Rockstar Games Launcher icon on your desktop or installation directory.
Right-click the icon and select "Run as administrator".
If the launcher works properly, you can set it to always run as an administrator:
Right-click the launcher icon and select "Properties".
Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check the box "Run this program as administrator".
Click "Apply" and then "OK".
4. Reinstall the Launcher and Social Club
Press Win + R, type "appwiz.cpl", and press Enter to open "Programs and Features".
Find "Rockstar Games Launcher" and "Rockstar Games Social Club", right-click and select "Uninstall".
Go to the Rockstar official website to download the latest versions of the launcher and Social Club.
After downloading, install the new programs, log in to your account, and check if the issue is resolved.
5. Disable Antivirus and Firewall
Open your antivirus software and find the "Real-Time Protection" or "Firewall" option, and temporarily disable it.
Press Win + S, search for "Firewall", and click Windows Defender Firewall.
Click on "Turn Windows Firewall on or off" on the left side and select "Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended)".
After turning off the firewall, try restarting the Rockstar Games Launcher.
If the issue is resolved, we recommend adding the launcher to the exception list of your firewall or antivirus software to prevent it from being blocked in the future.
Note: When disabling security software, avoid visiting unsafe websites or downloading unknown files to ensure system security.
6. Update Windows Operating System
Press Win + I to open Settings, then click "Update & Security" > "Windows Update".
Click "Check for updates", and if updates are available, download and install them.
After installation, restart your computer and run the Rockstar Games Launcher to check if the issue is resolved.
Follow these steps to fix the Rockstar Games Launcher. If the issue continues, contact Rockstar support for further help.
